Trek Ride Up Grades Road Cycling Day Camp
"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them."
-Ernest Hemingway

Trek-sponsored Ride Up Grades youth road bike camp is designed to teach youth about road cycling in urban and suburban environments. Certified Cycling Instructors and Coaches will teach young riders how to use their machines; shifting gears, riding up hills, and safely sharing the road will all be covered.

Date: M-F, July 12-23, 2021
Time: 8am - 6pm
Ages: 14-18, must know how to ride
Location: Trek 96th street
Cost: Free; bikes and helmets provided daily

-Perseverance: triumph over challenging circumstances, hills are like challenges: get over them
-Self-confidence: completing difficult activities builds self-worth
-Navigation skills: As Hemingway said, knowledge of the lived environment is infinitely valuable. Students will learn how to use maps to navigate New York in a way they never have before!

We aim to turn young riders into competent commuters and offer those who may be interested in riding more, and faster, the opportunity to race after completing this program.
