Our team of volunteers supports a variety of activities, including after school clubs, spirit wear, the Fall Carnival, in-class events, International Family Potluck, and more. We rely on our LME community's help to make everything possible!

Would you like to be involved?

We have so many options to choose from, whether you prefer starting small or using your specific skills. Our group is amazing and you'll have the chance to learn more about our school and meet many community members.

PTA SCHOOL EVENTS - What events would you be interested in volunteering for?

There are often many different ways to help with each event - including planning, set up, day of volunteering and more.

(Please note dates are subject to change)

Fitnic: (September 26th) An evening picnic with games, activities promoting healthy lifestyles, plus the chance to make connections and build community.

Bike, Walk, Ride to School: (October 8th): An enjoyable morning for the LME community to meet and ride bikes to school!

Fall Carnival: (November 8th) LME's most anticipated PTA fundraiser and event of the year! An exciting school carnival with something for everyone to enjoy - including raffles, bake sale, games, inflatables and more!

Student Market Fair (Tentatively during November): New Event! Help us plan and execute this great idea to have students create and sell their products.

LME Science Fair: (January 14th-15th 2025): A showcase where students present their innovative science projects and experiments

Parent Party (Tentatively January 31st): Let's Celebrate LME's 40th Anniversary with an 80's Party for Parents Only! At Balcones Country Club.

LME Fun Run Fundraiser (Date TBD but likely March 2026): Help LME PTA raise some money to support all of our many programs! Our Fun Run will look different this year and we will need an army of volunteers to help facilitate it!

Engineering Week (Week of February 22nd): Volunteer in your child's classroom and facilitate an awesome Engineering Project (as chosen by our Engineering Chair).

International Family Potluck (April 11th): A community potluck dinner in addition to games and trivia! New this year: We are including a Silent Auction (which will include Teacher Parties) and Buy-in Parties!

Field Day (May 15th): An exciting and popular day at school where students enjoy outdoor games and activities like relay races, inflatables, and obstacle courses.

Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8): Help with different events throughout the week including creating bouquets for teachers, help set up food, and/or monitor classes while teachers have an extended lunch.

PTA PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

There are also other ways to help with additional programs and activities. Our LME PTA does a lot!!

If you are interested in helping with any of these, please check the box, and the Chair for the Committee will be in touch.

Homeroom Parent: This role is split into Lead and two Assistants, as well as a Class Photographer. They help plan the two yearly parties, organize teacher gifts and any other requests from the teacher. It's a great way to show the teachers some love!

Sponsors and Donations: Sponsors help fund our progams and activities. Would you like to be a School Sponsor? We are also looking for help collecting donations for our Carnival raffle baskets and International Night Silent Auction.

Yearbook: Help take pictures for the yearbook!

Healthy Lifestyles: Promote healthy living through various initiatives throughout the year

Environmental Team: Help support our Environmental Chair with efforts throughout the year.

Welcome Support: Help with planning events throughout the year to welcome our new families.

PTA Marketing Support: Assist with our Facebook pages and other marketing efforts, could include making flyers and marketing materials

Clothes Closet: Help promote, collect, and sort clothings drives in collaboration with Council efforts

Run an LME PTA Club: We would love to have Parents to run our Fall and/or Spring Clubs. If you have a special talent or idea for a Club, we would love to have you! Clubs run for approximately 10 weeks in the Fall and Spring.

General Volunteer Needs: Throughout the year, we have volunteer needs arise like with Costco runs, additional helpers for teacher or staff support. This group will be contact when last minute needs arise.

Teacher Workroom Help: New this year! We would like to have a group that can help with teacher needs in the workroom. Needs would be during the weekday for an hour or so and tasks could include making copies, laminating, cutting, etc.
