Transparency - 2018 Model Exhibit Entry Form
A healthy and productive civic society rests on a foundation of trust and openness among citizens, government, and private organizations. As our news and conversations are filled with suspicions and conspiracy, and as we live through massive demographic changes in our cities due to gentrification, immigration, aging, and displacement, how can the work of architects and designers unite our communities for the better in the midst of civic upheaval? This year’s theme – Transparency – encourages entrants to explore the rich interplay between architectural design and civic life.

For the 21st Annual Architectural Model Exhibit, SAF invites local designers to submit models produced for both conceptual and presentation use. Proposed entries should engage with our exhibit theme of Transparency. Possible avenues for exploration may include but are not limited to: community led and driven architecture; projects which emphasize community access, collaboration, or facilitate connections with the surrounding landscape and neighbors; transparency in regards to safety, materials, and environmental standards; and designs which engage aesthetically and creatively with the concept of transparency.
