1. Vigilance concerning the well-being of Dance on Camera in regards to its legal, ethical, and moral administration. As such, it is the board member’s responsibility to:
• Be familiar with our budget and take an active part in the budget planning process.
• Know and approve all policies and programs and oversee their implementation.
• Take responsibility for making decisions on organization issues and board matters.
• Interpret DFA's work and values to the community, represent the organization and serve as a spokesperson.
• Keep up-to-date on the business of the organization.
• Excuse myself from discussions, decisions and votes where I may have a conflict of interest.
2. Attendance at least 4-6 board meetings per year. If I am unable to attend a meeting, I will make every effort to be available for telephone consultation.
3. An annual personal financial contribution is expected to be made to Dance on Camera [aka Board Dues]. This may be given as a one-time donation each year or in mutually agreed to installments during the course of the year. Board Members are expected to personally donate at least $1,000 per year.
4. Active participation in one or more fundraising activities. This may include individual and/or special event solicitation or direct mail or email appeals to my own personal colleagues and friends. Beyond board dues, Board Members are expected to contribute to the financial security of Dance on Camera by making reasonable contributions to Dance on Camera by purchasing tickets for fundraisers, special screenings, and when called to make material contributions to fundraisers and events with in-kind donations.
5. Working in good faith with fellow Board Members and staff toward the achievement of the organization’s goals.
