1.) What does a typical volunteer day entail? While no two trail work days are the same, some common activities include: Clipping/Pruning plants; raking trail heads; moving and spreading trail surface materials; helping build small bridges and cutting and removing invasive species.
2.) What should I bring/wear?
Trail work can be dirty work. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and closed- toe shoes. I supply all the tools you will need but feel free to bring your own gloves if you have them. Please bring water, snacks and any medications you might require for the duration of the activity.
3.) Where will trail work be done?
Locations and projects are dependent on the number of participants and when you want to volunteer. Once we establish these I will give you directions to the trail we will be working on.
4.) Are there other group volunteer opportunities besides the trail work?
Yes! We host a few annual events and conduct quarterly mailings. These activities are much easier and more fun when we have many hands to help. Feel free to let us know if you'd like to help at on of our events or in the office.
If you have further questions please don't hesitate to ask.
