Colorado Universal Prekindergarten is coming to Custer County for the 2024-2025 school year! This program allows families to choose the right setting for their child, whether it is in a licensed community-based, school-based or home-based preschool setting.
Beginning in the 24-25 school year, the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) is slated to fund at least ten hours of high-quality, voluntary preschool for every Colorado child in their year before entering kindergarten. The CDEC is aware that many families will require more than 10 hours of care, therefore, they are developing guidelines for children to qualify for additional state-funded hours. This information on eligibility will be published as it becomes available.
