October event support

There is so much happening in and with the community of Cedar Park United. Below are some of the main events where you can get involved and offer your time and talent. Thank you!

☕ Community Café in the Meeting Room

Wednesdays from 9:30- 11 AM

Bake homemade goodies (nut-free, and also gluten-free, if you have a great recipe!)

Host the Café on October 7 (put on tablecloths, make coffee, set out mugs and treats, welcome)

Host the Café on October 14 (put on tablecloths, make coffee, set out mugs and treats, welcome)

Host the Café on October 21 (put on tablecloths, make coffee, set out mugs and treats, welcome)

Host the Café on October 28 (put on tablecloths, make coffee, set out mugs and treats, welcome)

☕ Mini Connections Play Group in the Community Hall

Wednesdays from 9- 11 AM

Our drop-in play group for caregivers with their children 0 - 5 years old is an important space of welcome, care and community-building.

Set out the toys in the Community Hall at 8:45 AM

🥪 Community Connections

Wednesday, October 7: 11:30 - 3 PM

Share radical welcome with our neighbourhood over a simple lunch followed by a sandwich-making session for Bread and Beyond

Pick up food donations from Provigo in Kirkland (Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning)

Help set up the tables and chairs (10:45 AM)

Help prepare the lunch (10 AM)

Help make sandwiches as a team (1 - 3 PM)

Deliver the sandwiches to Ricochet (9451, boulevard Gouin Ouest, Pierrefonds QC H8Y 1T2 (3 PM)

🍅 Supper Together, with Montreal City Mission

Friday, October 16, 2026: 4:30 - 7 PM

Our community meal is one of the imporant ways we extend radical welcome to our neighbourhood. This month, we're partnering with Montreal City Mission.

Shop for groceries and deliver to CPU kitchen (Thursday, October 15--you will be reimbursed)

Help set up the tables and chairs (Friday, 3 PM)

Pick up food donations from Provigo in Kirkland (4 PM)

Help during the event (4:30- 7 PM) : welcome, help in the kitchen, replenish the serving line, wash dishes

Help with cleanup (7- 8 PM): wash the last dishes, put away tables and chairs

🎶 Afternoon Tea Concert for Seniors

Wednesday, October 21: 11 AM - 5 PM

The monthly Afternoon Tea Concerts for Seniors offer an opportunity to gather, hear wonderful professional musicians, and enjoy a plate of sweets, cheese and a mini scone. Most of our guests are from beyond Cedar Park United. Below are ways you might like to help for the October 21 event.

Set up tables and chairs on Tuesday, October 20, 1 - 2 PM

Load and unload dishwasher, Wednesday, 3:15 - 4

Clear tables after concert, Wednesday, 3:15 - 3:30

Put away tables and reset chairs in rows, Wednesday, 3:30 - 4

🫖 Covenanting reception for Rev. Dr. Michael Caveney

Sunday, October 25: 3:30 - 5 PM

After this special service, everyone is invited to gather for a reception in the Community Hall. Together, we will make it a joyful, welcoming time for all!

Help set up the Community Hall (12:30 - 1:30 PM)

Make a plate of cookies, squares or savoury finger food to share

Help set out and replenish the food (3:30 - 4:30)

Help with cleanup (4:45 - 5:30 PM): wash dishes, put away tables and chairs

🎶 Midweek Musical Connections

Tuesday, October 27: 7 - 8 PM

Midweek Musical Connections is an informal Tuesday evening concert for all ages. Having additional helpers will ensure all attendees experience the special Cedar Park United welcome.

Set up chairs in a circle around the piano Monday, October 26 at 2 PM

Reset chairs into rows immediately following the concert OR Wednesday, October 28 9:30-10 AM.
