We are pleased to invite you and your family to our Sovereignty Lab on Saturday, April 29th from 10 am to 5 pm at the Lawrence Public Library (707 Vermont St, Lawrence, KS 66044). Please respond to these questions to RSVP for you and your family.
Our team of scholars from the University of Kansas are offering to digitize oral histories, photographs, artwork, newspapers, letters, and postcards for you and your family's records, tribal archives, or the American Indian Digital History Project (AIDHP) for use by responsible scholars - which ever you choose! To learn more about AIDHP, check out the website here: http://www.aidhp.com/.
Our Mission:
Through the Indigenous Community Archives Project (ICAP), we are providing accessible services for Indigenous individuals and families who desire to digitize traditional stories, oral histories, photographs, and other significant items for their own private preservation, tribal access, or to share with responsible scholars. We respect full Indigenous sovereignty, which necessitates our transparency throughout this process and adherence to processes that are guided by equity, inclusion, and reciprocity. Through ICAP, we strive to build and maintain trust with Indigenous communities in Kansas and beyond.
