LPSC Women in Planetary Science Networking Event 2017
Welcome! This event is open to all interested persons, and we will spend most of the time discussing the highlighted topic for this year: Mental Wellness/Illness and Your Career.

When: Wednesday, March 22, 2017; 5:30 to ~7:30 pm
Where: Waterway 4 (in the Conference Venue - Woodlands Waterway Marriott, The Woodlands, TX)

--> Getting a PhD and navigating a career in science can be hard... and there's a psychological cost to the endeavor that no one talks about. Please join us for a discussion with Linda Cantu, President of the Texas Branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), who will help us better understand what we can do for ourselves and to support others.

--> The Division for Planetary Sciences is graciously sponsoring the light refreshments for this event (soft drinks and appetizers) - THANK YOU!! If you are not already a member, find out more about the DPS, their annual conference, and all the other great support they give to the planetary science community here: http://dps.aas.org/

Approximate Schedule:
- 5:30 - Snacks and networking
- 5:45 - Opening Remarks
- 6:00 - Presentation by Holly Doggett (Executive Director of NAMI* Texas), Linda Cantu (President of NAMI Texas)
- 7:00 - Group announcements and discussion

Please forward this invitation/sign-up to your colleagues and friends who might be interested! Registration is not required but we would like to get some idea of numbers. Anyone is welcome to come late or leave early if they need.

*NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness
