Your child has been chosen to represent the school in an afternoon event where they will apply their maths skills and knowledge. Your child will work as part of a team and compete against other schools to solve a range of maths problems and puzzles. Teams will be judged not only on their solutions to a range of problems, but for the problem solving skills that they demonstrate and teamwork. If successful, the team will have the opportunity to move forward to the regional round and then possibly the final round held at Cambridge University!
The visit will take place on Wednesday 8th November between 12-2 pm at the Explore Learning Education Centre in North Shields. Your child will need a packed lunch for the day which they will have at the event (free school meals will be provided with a grab bag). We will leave school at 11.30 am and return to school for approximately 2.30 pm. We will be walking to and from the event, so please ensure your child has an appropriate coat.
To help support your child on the day, we would love to invite you along for the afternoon. If you are able to come, please indicate on the form below and come to the school office on Wednesday 8th November 2017 for 11.30 am.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the day.
