The Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UNC and Duke University is hosting a teacher workshop on Saturday, September 30 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. This event will be located at Morehead Planetarium and on the UNC campus. The workshop includes a ticket for Southern Skies/Cielos del Sur at the Morehead Planetarium, a teacher workshop led by Dr. Gabrielle Vail; lunch; and 0.5 CEUs. This event is open to current North Carolina K-12 teachers. Event registration is limited to 20 participants and we will accept registration on a first come, first serve basis. Participants are expected to be present for the entire event.
Check-in is at 8:30 am at the Morehead Planetarium. You can park at the Morehead Planetarium parking lot or along Franklin Street.
The Southern Skies/Cielos del Sur show is 9:00-10:00 am. This is a bilingual (Spanish and English) show.
The teacher workshop will follow the show and will be located on UNC's campus. It will include a short walk from the Morehead Planetarium.
The workshop will conclude at 2:30 pm. Lunch is provided.
Registration will close on Tuesday, September 19 at noon EST. All food orders will be placed on Wednesday, September 20 at noon EST.
