President
Candidates:

J. Alex Grizzell
(Psychology and Neuroscience)

Alex studies the neurobiological mechanisms of resilience to trauma and addiction, with an additional focus on teaching, mentorship, and pedagogy - be it from higher education to general population levels. Serving currently as a PAC advisory board member, Alex spearheaded multiple efforts to bring postdocs together from CU Denver, Anschutz, and Boulder, for example the upcoming "STEM @ Stem" event (Summer, 2022). As President (or in any elected position), Alex hopes to continue the push to develop various sustainable networking and professional development opportunities for Boulder postdocs, whether their career interests lie in industry, academia, and more.

George Tseropoulos
(Chemical and Biological Engineering)

With a background in Bioengineering from the frozen lake plains of Western New York, George joined CU October 2021 with his research interests focusing on utilizing hydrogels to understand cellular functions and pathways to design novel approaches for regenerative medicine. As a president, he plans to connect Boulder postdocs through community inclusion and culture-oriented events on and off campus, as well as enhance outreach activities and industrial/academic networking. When not in the lab, George likes movies, gaming and going out/exploring the Boulder-Denver area.

Vice-President
Ananya Rakshit
(Biofrontiers Institute )

I am exploring the effect of Zinc perturbations in mammalian cell cycle. I am originally from Kolkata, India. I like hiking, painting/doodling, reading, or watching Naruto. The mission of PAC Boulder is strongly aligned with my vision of building a sense of community for postdocs and supporting them throughout their journey at CU Boulder. I have served as a member of PAC Boulder advisory committee in 2021-2022 which made me more familiarize with what PAC does as an organization. As a vice-president, I would like to  work with postdoc office actively to bring in more support for postdocs and would help organizing different events to connect with more CU postdocs.

In lab, Monica studies how bottlebrush polymer hydrogels can be used to mimic extracellular matrix environments. Outside of lab, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, and skiing in and around Boulder while capturing the beauty of the Rocky Mountains through photography and painting.

Communications
Ana Torres-Ocampo
(BioFrontiers Institute)

I'm a postdoc in the Palmer lab and I'm studying the role of zinc in the brain. I was student-body president as a grad student so I'm familiar working in collaboration with other members. Social media can be a powerful tool to make the program more visible and I think PAC needs to be more present in social media in order to increase its network with other post doc associations.
