We are going to debate and provoke critical thought so that the participants form their own opinion around the topic. We are going to talk about food production, processing, trade, food waste, involving different stakeholders so that to gain different perspectives on healthy food.
This youth exchange will be all about learning by doing. To get to know what food is healthy and what does it mean eat and to cook healthy, the participants are going to try different food and cook themselves. They are going to get to know how the food is produced, processed, grown, etc. the participants are going to visit farms, markets, gardens, places where food is produced and made ready for consumption. We are going to visit both places where food is produced not in sustainable way, as well as permaculture and other farmers who follow the environment-friendly approach.
Through dialogues with different food stakeholders the participants are going to be gradually inspired to create healthy diets for themselves, as well as take their own actions to promote healthy food in their communities. This project will be from increasing awareness to increasing the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship. During the youth exchange the participants are going to create their own initiatives to make an impact already during the youth exchange. It’s up to the young people’s creativity what they are going to implement and what format they are going to choose to raise awareness about healthy food at the end of the youth exchange: a campaign, a flashmob, make awareness raising videos, online campaign, street action, etc. The partner organisations are going to facilitate young people’s creativity so that they give their ideas a shape and make an impact.
