2018/2019 GUHSD Transportation Application

1. All applications MUST be submitted by the deadline. July 21, 2018.
2. Applications received after the deadline may not be processed until after the beginning of school. (Please allow up to 2 weeks processing)
3. Seats are assigned after completed applications are received in Transportation and paid in full.
4. Transportation ID's will be issued once approved for transportation.
5. Every student boarding the bus MUST be in possession of a valid Transportation ID in order to board and ride the bus.
6. Switching routes/stops/buses is not allowed due to seating limitations of the buses.
7. Routes and departure times can be found on our website at www.guhsd.net
8. Stops and times will not be published until the 6th of August 2018. You will receive notification once available.
9. Students MUST scan their transportation ID when entering and exiting the bus for tracking and safety purposes.
10. GUHSD Board policy states that students living within 3 miles of their neighborhood school are not eligible for Transportation.
11. There are NO bus stops within 3 miles of GUHSD schools.
12. Filling out application and submitting does not guarantee service. Stops are determined by walking distance.
13. No medications of any type are allowed on the school bus. All medications must be delivered to the school nurse by a parent/guardian.
14. All applicants must be approved to ride prior to purchasing a pass.
15. Do not purchase bus pass or tickets until you have received approval to ride.
16. You may not be eligible for transportation if you live outside of the Grossmont Union High School boundaries.

School Bus Safety Rules
The following rules and regulations have been established by State Law and the Board of Trustees. The Board has elected to provide limited transportation, although home-to-school transportation for General Education students is not required by the State.

1.The bus driver is in charge at all times. Follow the driver's instructions.
2. Students must conduct themselves at all times in a manner which shows respect for property and consideration for others. Actions such as littering, spitting, throwing of objects at, within, or out of the bus, vandalism or harassment of others will not be tolerated.
3. Students need to arrive at their bus stop a minimum of 5 minutes prior to the designated departure time.
4. When you see the bus coming, move back 12 feet from the stop and line up for loading. Enter and leave the bus in an orderly manner.
5. Animals, birds, reptiles, fish, insects, breakable containers, skateboards, weapons or any object that could be hazardous will not be transported.
6. Students shall remain seated from the time they board the bus until they arrive at their destination and the bus door is opened. Seats may be assigned at any time.
7. All parts of the body must be kept inside the bus at all times.
8. Avoid touching the emergency exit and driver operated mechanisms.
9. Talk quietly; make no unnecessary noise. Be absolutely quiet when approaching and crossing railroad tracks.
10. Profanity, vulgarity and obscene gestures are not permitted.
11. Students must be fully attired, including shoes. Spiked or cleated shoes shall not be worn.
12. If bus passes are used, they must be presented to the driver immediately upon entering the bus.
13. If one-way ride tickets are used, they must be presented with an accompanying valid transportation ID card to the driver immediately upon entering the bus.

FAILURE TO ABIDE BY ONE OR MORE OF THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF BUS RIDING PRIVILEGES.
