We would like to be able to use photos and videos from our activities for educational & non-commercial promotional materials published on paper, online and social media by the Scientist Next Door, University of Edinburgh and Durham University. WE WILL ALWAYS ASK YOUR PERMISSION BEFORE TAKING PHOTOS OR RECORDING VIDEOS. *

Information for Parent/Guardian(s)

At this point, we can only accept schools based in the UK. We are aiming to expand, but due to safeguarding laws, we must insist that all schools reside in the UK (this condition also applied to scientists). This ensures that all our scientist volunteers can have criminal background checks that meet UK law.

By signing up to the SND program, it is assumed that you consent for us to hold your personal data. We will retain this information for as long as you are involved with SND. When we assign a scientist, we will contact you ASAP. If you do not reply, we will remind you every few weeks for up to 3 months, at which point we will assume you no longer want to be involved. We will then delete all of your personal data in accordance with GDPR guidelines. Equally, if at any point you contact us to inform us that you no longer wish to be involved, we will delete your data. If, at any point, you no longer wish to be involved please email us at outreach@scientist-next-door.org.
