GAPA Public Hearings RSVP
It is time to pack the room of the public hearings for the GAPA ordinance! These hearings mark a success and an important step in our campaign to have gotten to this point. At these public hearings, aldermen from the area will hear from residents their thoughts and feelings on the various police accountability ordinances pertaining to a community commission. These hearings are hosted by Ald. Reboyras, Chair of the Public Safety Committee. The ordinances that will be discussed at the hearings include the GAPA ordinance, CPAC (Civilian Police Accountability council), and the two watered-down ordinances that Ald. Reboyras introduced.
This will be a time to show our power as a coalition to aldermen across the city, and to make clear that nearly 2000 people have worked to inform this policy through a community-driven process, and we believe it's the best one for this city.
Therefore, we are aiming to have strong turnout levels. We will be in touch as they approach with information about how to show up in the space so folks feel adequately prepared.
