Following the closure of Ferndale Infant School last year and lots of speculation within the community about the plans for the building we are extremely excited and proud to announce that The Fern Partnership have been successful in their business plan and will be developing this centre in partnership with RCT CBC.
The Council is committed to developing Community Hubs where key Council services and third sector partners are co-located to deliver services to local communities. Taking this into account Rhondda Cynon Taf Council therefore proposes to move the library to the former Ferndale Infants building where it will form part of a larger multi-purpose Community Hub, working alongside us the Fern Partnership and other Council services to offer a wide range of cost effective services to the local community.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform the community that we have positive plans to develop this into a centre Ferndale residents and the Valleys can be proud of, offering childcare and community activities for all generations as well as the relocation and improved library facilities.
If all plans run smoothly the centre will be open to the public January 2019.
We would be extremely grateful if you would spend a few minutes of your time completing the questionnaire to allow us to take stock of your views and opinions to ensure we utilise the facility to it's maximum potential.
