Join us for the online screening of the award-winning documentary, The World is Bright (Winner of the Best Documentary Feature, 20th Silver Wave Film Festival, 2020). Then, please join the community dialogue about the issues that were revealed in this tragic story of an immigrant and how his family fought for the justice that their son deserved. Most of all, examine how these systemic issues continue still today!
Ying Wang (the Director), Kenneth Fung (Psychiatrist, and Director, Global Mental Health, U of T ) and Elizabeth Long (Immigration lawyer, Advocate of immigrant and refugee rights) are going to join us to examine the intersectionality of immigration, mental health and justice systems in Canada.
