"Food, Freedom, and Firsts" is a therapeutic support
group
for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color) undergraduate students navigating the challenges of living
independently for the first time. This affirming space encourages
participants to reflect on their relationship with food, emotional
well-being, and autonomy through open dialogue and mutual support. The
group
explores themes of identity, cultural expectations, and personal
growth, empowering members to build sustainable routines and deepen
self-awareness. The group will be facilitated by
Aayushi Gala &
Taryn Crosby.
Any BIPOC undergraduate students located in New York State is encouraged to register.
This group will meet online on Tuesdays at 6:30pm, depending on participant availability. The fee for the group is $25/session; some sliding scale is available.
