Ridgewood Holiday Benefit Show Open Call
Supermoon Community Art Space will be hosting The Ridgewood Holiday Benefit Art Show, curated by Rute Ventura and Isabelle Schneider, with a portion of proceeds to be donated to the Ridgewood Tenants Union. This call is open to all emerging and mid-career visual artists working in 2D and 3D, and is ideal for those who wish to make way for new works by parting with some of your older, smaller and affordable works, however current work may also be submitted.
All submissions will be considered by the curators.
Free Submission (1 to 3 artworks)
Upon selection a $5 fee is required at drop-off to pay for the opening reception expenses.
Artists keep 70% of their sale and donate 30% (or more if they elect to do so) to the Ridgewood Tenants Union.
All 2D work must be 18" or less in any direction. Sculpture height may exceed 18".
Work that is wired and ready to be hung is preferred, but unframed works on paper, etc., will be considered and will be hung with pins or glue dots, if no border.
All works must be priced at $300 or less.

Deadline for Submissions: Sunday, December 8th at 11:59 PM
Notification Date: Monday, December 9th, and Tuesday, December 10th
Saturday, December 14th from 12pm to 6pm (Opening Reception 6pm to 10pm)
Sunday, December 15th from 11am to 4pm
Drop-off: at December 11th - December 13th. Details will be in your acceptance email.

Ridgewood Tenants Union Mission Statement:
The Ridgewood Tenants Union (RTU) was founded in 2014 and is an all-volunteer, tenant-led and independent anti-gentrification group whose mission is to grow the power of tenants in Ridgewood to collectively fight displacement. We work towards our mission by door-knocking to inform tenants about their rights, holding monthly tenant assemblies, organizing tenant associations, holding know-your-rights trainings, creating neighborhood-wide campaigns, and working in coalition with other housing groups in NYC. One of our current campaigns involves building up opposition against Avery Hall Investments' proposed 24-story luxury tower at 1590 Gates Ave, the site of our community's Food Bazar Supermarket. This luxury tower will further increase rents in a neighborhood where so many of our neighbors are already rent burdened.
