AHAEEF College Scholarship
The AHAEEF Scholarship fund awards a one-time scholarship to scholars who are pursuing their first post-secondary degree (scholars applying for a Master’s or a PhD are not eligible). This includes scholars pursuing completion of a trade or vocation school and those attending a 4-year university or a 2-year college. 
Who is Eligible?
  • Applicants who live in Public Housing, is a HCV resident (includes RAD, PBV/PBRA), child of a Housing Authority employee (must be a current State of Alabama PHA employee and have been employed for 2 consecutive years) or a Housing Authority employees (employed for the last two consecutive years).
  • Eligible applicants must be a graduating high school senior or possess a high school diploma or GED and must be applying to or attending an accredited institution of higher education pursuing their first post-secondary degree. (Scholars applying for a master’s or a PhD are not eligible). If currently attending college, applicants must be registered as a full-time student.
When is the Application Deadline?

All applications and documentation (submitted as one pdf) must be received via electronic submission no later than Monday, March 1, 2024 5:00 PM Central Time.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Section 3: Essay (750 - 1000 Words). 
Essay Prompt: Please tell us about yourself and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goal of attending and/or graduating from the university/college/technical trade school you plan to attend (or are attending).

Send One Email with the Following Attachments to AHAEEFScholarship@gmail.com: 
  1. Two Letters of Recommendation  (One from your HA E.D. and one from a non-relative, i.e. school administrator, counselor, teacher, community leader or church member)
  2. An unofficial transcript from high school and/or the academic institution the applicant is currently attending
  3. Verification of acceptance/attendance at an accredited institution of higher education. 
  4. Headshot photo of Applicant
