Senator Shannon Grove has introduced SB 14 to strengthen public safety by including human trafficking in the lists of crimes that are defined as serious and violent under California law, making the crime a strike under the Three Strikes law.
The International Labor Organization estimates that over the last decade there were more than 40 million human trafficking victims worldwide. We must fight to protect victims, strengthen prevention and increase the prosecution of those who buy and sell human beings.
