Des élèves de neuf pays européens ont participé à un projet de sciences citoyenne. Ils ont installé des centaines de fausses chenilles en pâte à modeler dans des arbres pour y déceler des traces de dents, de becs ou de mandibules laissées par les prédateurs des chenilles. Ils ont envoyé leurs observations aux scientifiques qui étudient les effets du climat et de l'urbanisation sur les défenses des arbres.

Le projet est reconduit l’année prochaine. Les scientifiques lancent à nouveau un appel aux enfants des écoles pour participer à ce vaste projet. Vous pouvez vous inscrire pour participer !

Students from seven European countries participated in a citizen science project. They installed hundreds of fake caterpillars in trees to detect traces of teeth, beaks or mandibles left by caterpillars' predators. They sent their observations to scientists studying the effects of climate on tree defences.

The project continues. Scientists are once again calling on school children to participate in this vast project. You can register to participate!
