Which of the following best classifies you? *
We would like to use the above information to acknowledge you in our program.  Is there any other information you would like for us to use in our program?
Please input your company/research group affiliation. *
Have you previously been involved in BioEHSC™? *
Which BioEHSC™ Category do you feel best fits your expertise? *
Biological engineering involves employing techniques learned from biology to improve human life, such as genetically modifying fruits to increase nutritional value or culturing algae to produce biofuels. This category encompasses synthetic biology, computational biology, and bioinformatics. Medical engineering is centered on human health and understanding how the human body works both as a whole and on a molecular level for prevention and rehabilitation purposes. This category encompasses biomaterials, tissue engineering, medical devices and biomedical imaging.
Academic Judging vs Industry Judging
Academic Judging: Students give a 12 minute presentation and judges will follow with about 5 minutes of questioning. Judges will have a few minutes of time to deliberate amongst one another. If you are a graduate student or postdoctoral/faculty researcher, you would most likely fit academic judging.

Industry Judging: Students will present a 2 minute “elevator pitch”, emphasizing project feasibility from an industry standpoint. Judges will follow with a few minutes of questioning and will have a bit of time to deliberate prior to the next group. If you are affiliated with industry, you would most likely fit industry judging.
