X Chromosome Inheritance
A survey (performed by Blaine Bettinger - http://thegeneticgenealogist.com/) to study the inheritance of chromosomes. In particular, this survey is intended to collect information about the X chromosome inherited by a child from the mother, although it will be extended to look at all chromosomes.

To perform the analysis, the X chromosome of the grandchild will be compared to the one or two maternal grandparents using the GEDmatch X 'One-to-one' tool. As a comparison, chromosomes 1-22 of the grandchild will be compared to the one or two maternal grandparents using the GEDmatch 'One-to-one' compare tool (including chromosome 7, because it is roughly the same size as the X chromosome). These are the ONLY two tools for which the GEDmatch kit numbers will be utilized. I will be the only person to see the GEDmatch kit numbers, and after the analysis the GEDmatch kit numbers will be destroyed.

**CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED BUT WILL NOT BE SHARED: SEE BELOW**

Submissions made before March 1, 2017 will be entered into a lottery for a free AncestryDNA kit.
