Shadow a Student Reflection - Spring 2018
What did you get out of your student shadow experience?
What is the work (initiative, POP, project, priority) you are engaged in that is the lens through which you shadowed a student?
PITCH, Middle Grades Redesign, the Lau Plan, Master Scheduling, New Teacher support, etc.
What were some of your observations?
For example, one shadower said "my EL student spoke for a maximum of five minutes in class today."
What surprised or struck you?
For example, one principal said, "I was shocked to see how a student who might be a ‘bad boy’ in one class will be a scholar in the next one.”
How might your insights inform the next steps you take with your colleagues on the problem of practice, initiative, or project you are working on?
Do you have any suggestions for how SFUSD might promote student shadowing in the future?
