sKids and Moovosity - PE @ Home Learning Resource and Lesson Plans
It’s never been more important – and right now more challenging - to keep our kids moving and in good health.
New Zealand's leading provider of out of school hours care, sKids, is proud to announce a new partnership that delivers on its core value of 'giving back' - by providing all New Zealand primary schools and families with free access to a suite of resources for participating in quality movement and physical activity at home.
Moovosity is a physical education and movement literacy business working with the education sector to create confident and competent movers. Moovosity provides curriculum mapped, evidence based movement programmes and content directly to teachers and educators.
To support schools through the COVID-19 period and adjusted learning environment, sKids and Moovosity are providing teachers with free fortnightly PE lesson plans and activity resources to support home learning across Term 2.
This offer is completely free of charge for schools and families, and has no ongoing obligation.
The purpose of the resources is to ensure that existing school staff can access and provide quality PE learning for their families during this difficult period, in a manner that is completely user friendly and very low on tech requirements.
Lesson Plans will be delivered in two formats - one for teachers identifying curriculum aspects (currently mapped to the Australian ACARA curriculum), and a second version for parents and students to follow, that can be easily transferred to other communication platforms or simply printed and sent in hard copy.
All plans will include structured lesson guides, physical activity and game content via Moovosity's simple to use app, learning intentions, easy to follow instructions and suggested extras to keep students and families moving.
To take advantage of these free resources, follow these steps:
1. DOWNLOAD THE MOOVOSITY APP by searching 'Moovosity' in the Apple App Store. (Android users and families will be given access to an online library)
