Google Drive, Docs, and Folders - DRIVE: Learn its featues - adding files, converting files to Google "editable" documents, upload settings, using shared folders, and more. DOCS: Go paperless with Google's online word processor; share documents with others, or keep them private. Mentor students with shared docs and the comment feature. Add images and hyperlinks; design templates for students; push out assignments. Use the Explore Tool for researching the Web and creating instant footnotes. Publish docs as webpages. FOLDERS: Use for your personal organization or share with an entire group.

Google Forms - create your own customized Forms for your classroom, professional role, or personal uses. Use with students or colleagues. FORMS are fun and easy to construct, and you design them using the content and information pertinent to you. Respondents fill out the FORMS online, and Google “instantly” places the answers in a spreadsheet and creates a colored chart, summarizing the respondents’ answers. The spreadsheet can be sorted for easy viewing, and the colored chart allows for quick and easy reading.

Self Correcting Forms - Create “self-correcting” Google Forms for tests and quizzes. Show students test results immediately or after everyone has taken the test; include correct/incorrect answers if you wish. Teachers can add links to resources, to direct students for extra help, for questions they had incorrect. Students can be required to login to their school’s GSuite to collect user names. Or, Forms can be used without requiring that users login to Google accounts so they can be used on webpages, blogs, etc. Teachers can view a “class summary” page that summarizes the mean, median, and range of points of each test, most frequently missed questions, and item analysis of the responses. Or, they can choose to see individual students’ results. Individual students’ test results can be printed out for parent conferences. Plus, additional features not listed here.

Sites - create your own customized, professional-looking class webpage. Post images, insert videos, create subpages for different grade levels and/or subjects you teach. Use gadgets to add additional features and functionality. Post assignments, announcements, and links for student resources. You can even embed Google Forms, Calendars, Slide Shows, DRIVE folders and Docs.

Google Classroom - establish a paperless workflow with students for passing out and collecting assignments. Create, assign, collect, and grade student work in one place. Classroom creates an individual assignment folder for each student and automatically passes out the assignments for you, including directions and due dates. Each student receives his/her own copy of the assignment to type on. Classroom also creates a calendar for each class with assignments and due dates. Teachers can post announcements, assignments, multiple choice questions, and even take polls. They can choose whether or not to allow students to post comments in the class Stream, or post comments to each other in short-answer, “all-class” questions. Teachers can co-teach the same class. Parents/guardians can receive email summaries of student progress. Classroom now comes with a gradebook.

Customized Google Maps - Use for teaching lessons, collaborative student projects, project-based learning, or individual student reports. Users place "pins" on maps and fill them with information - text, images, links (even image slide shows). Great tool for having students create projects to show geographical features, national parks, volcanoes, famous battlefields, cities, field trips they’ve taken and more.

Maps With Forms - Create an interactive Google Map from information you collect in a Google Form. Have students fill out Forms with information they are studying, including names, facts, places, etc. Then, automatically import the information into a customized Google Map. Watch as pins are automatically placed on a Google Map, with all the information included.

Google Docs, Part 2 - Learn advanced (and hidden) features of Docs: use formatter tool, add custom fonts, set page attributes, edit images inside Docs, create masked images, activity windows, and more

Google Forms, Part 2 - learn advanced features: data verification, embedding Forms on webpages, pre-filled-in Forms, password protect Forms, multiple Forms results sent to one spreadsheet, automatically stop accepting responses by date or number of responses, and more

Calendar - make calendars for your personal use and for your classroom. Use with students for assignments, important dates, announcements, scheduling extra help, etc. Add attachments, add links, post due dates. Embed calendars on classroom webpages, blogs, and more. Students can even “subscribe” to your homework calendar. Make appointments and schedule meetings with colleagues. Use the task feature; print agendas for yourself or substitutes. Customize the Calendar settings to suit your personal work habits.

Paperless Classrooms - using Docs and Forms together to establish a paperless workflow between teachers and students; great for those who do NOT have Google Classroom in their schools

Presentation - create online slide shows, similar to Power Point, viewable in browsers. Use for teaching lessons; students view presentations online on mobile devices, computers, Chromebooks, smartphones, iPads, etc. Students can use Presentation for projects, working collaboratively, and demonstrating what they've learned. Teachers use for meetings and presentations. People can follow along on their own devices, or access at home asynchronously. Learn to use the Presenter’s Feature, which allows students/audiences to ask questions as you show the presentation to them. You can show the questions at any time during the live presentation, and students can ask questions from any device. Students can even vote on the questions they’d like to see answered.

Gmail - a lot more than just email; labels, archiving, tasks, contact groups, live chat, adding information directly to Google Calendar, and more

Groups - invite specific groups or classes; hold private online conversations; post materials; create/join different groups based on topics; include attachments; and, send email to the entire group with one click

Google Earth – (the current and new versions); fly anywhere on the Globe; use satellite imagery; see famous places – the White House, Eiffel Tower, etc. and geographical features - earthquakes faults, tectonic plates, national parks, where battles took place, where characters walked in literature, and more. Use for lessons and virtual field trips. Discover the treasure chest of additional galleries included such as NASA, National Geographic, and more. Use with students for project-based learning – have them create Google Earth “trips” to demonstrate what they have learned or teach their peers.

Add-Ons – Add functionality to Docs, Forms, and Sheets.
