Building Stronger School Nurse Leadership: A National Survey

This anonymous survey is being conducted by School Nurse Compass, a platform founded by school nurses to support, strengthen, and elevate school nursing practice.

School nurses often serve as the sole healthcare authority in their schools, working with a high level of autonomy. While passion drives the profession, transforming that passion into sustainable leadership requires strong onboarding, mentorship, and organizational support.

This survey seeks to identify gaps in onboarding, support systems, leadership development, and retention. Your insights will help inform resources, advocacy, and tools designed to strengthen school nurse leadership nationwide.

Findings may be shared in aggregate through educational presentations and publications to advance school nursing practice and support the students we serve.

Thank you for sharing your experience and helping shape the future of school nurse leadership.
