Female Friendships: Women’s Studies Poetry Workshop

Female friendships are such a vibe. Informing the girls we were in childhood, and sustaining the women we become. The way we fall in love with our girl friends when we are tweens and teens and want to spend every waking moment with them. The ways we would stay up late on corded phones talking through the night. The way they break our hearts worse than any romantic relationship because we said friends forever not friends til it’s over. Join me as we discuss and write about the big feelings that female friendships conjure. The last four Wednesdays in April (9, 16, 23, 30) from 7:00pm to 8:30pm est. There is also a materials only option that you complete at your own pace. Let’s talk girl friends, pen pals, best friends forever.

This is a generative workshop wherein you will be creating your own unique poems based on prompts that I provide. Thank you for your interest in participating in my poetry workshop. The success of this workshop depends on active participation from members on four matters (specific to full workshop folks, if you are at your own pace/materials only then please check that off):

1. Completing the required reading/viewing/listening to of weekly materials that I curate for you.

2. Submitting your weekly poem on time.

3. Engaging with fellow group members’ poems.

4. Attending meetings.

While I know that life comes up and sometimes you are unable to do some of these things (all sessions are recorded for your convenienve in case you have to miss a meeting), please do plan to engage as much as possible. Thank you.
