We Support a New Shawnee National Park and Climate Preserve
We support transferring the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois, out of the Department of Agriculture and into the Department of Interior to create the new Shawnee National Park and Climate Preserve.

The Shawnee contains the largest expanse of scenic landscapes, biodiverse natural areas, and mature forests in Illinois. The new designation will benefit wildlife, recreation, our rapidly changing climate and stimulate much needed economic development in southern Illinois.

Please support legislation in Washington, D.C. to establish the new Shawnee National Park and Climate Preserve.
