Dear parents and/or guardians of the applicant,
Before completing the application, please read the following information about the philosophy and mission of our conservatory.
The Washington Heights Community Conservatory (WHCC) was created with the purpose of providing high quality arts education for students of economic limitations with artistic talent and interested in pursuing a career at a professional level. We focus on orchestral instruments. We DO NOT offer piano or guitar lessons.
If the candidate is accepted into our conservatory, he/she will be with us for a minimum of 8 years. For this reason, we require that all parents or guardians make sure that each child has the time and space to practice every day at home. All students receive a full scholarship, and in some cases, we provide the instruments. For this reason, once your child chooses his preferred instrument, he/she can not change it in the course of his career at the conservatory.
Our class schedule goes from Monday to Friday (from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM) and on Saturdays (from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Given the number of applications received during the year, we can not interview all the candidates that apply to our conservatory, we only guarantee to see a limited number of applicants.
To facilitate the admission process, all communication will be made through the email
and the telephone number 404-500-9422. Please be sure to save these in your contacts.
