Include as many of the following ideas as possible: Hans’s plans that evening; who Hans was with; Hans’s first sighting of the two American women; Hans’s internal thoughts about these women, and Samantha’s mother in particular; how the night progresses; Hans’s history of these types of evenings; Hans’s history with women; Hans’s family; the setting of the events; how the evening ends; what Hans does later that evening; what Hans is doing now, 40 years later; and most importantly – Why  - What is Hans’s reason for doing what he does?

What is a metaphor? What is a torrent? How is a torrent different from a drip? What is the comparison to time that the writer employs? What has happened to time earlier in the story? What has happened to it at this point in the story?
