2019 Young Voices Media Workshop Application
The 2019 Young Voices Media Project takes place July 8-19 in Gonzales. High school and first-second year college students age 15-19 will receive hands-on instruction on the basics of media literacy, critical thinking, journalism, and news reporting from professional journalists. They will pitch story ideas, conduct interviews, follow story leads and write/produce their own news stories for Voices of Monterey Bay, an independent non-profit news organization in Monterey County.

Any incoming high school sophomore, junior, senior or college first or second year student is eligible to apply.
Please fill out this application for consideration, upload two writing samples (any type or length, including school essays, blog posts, short stories, poems, news articles, etc.), and upload at least one letter of recommendation.

Application deadline is June 14, 2019. Applicants will be notified beginning June 24, 2018.
