Black History Month Student Showcase Proposal Form
Students are invited to honor Black History Month in a personal way as part of the Black History Month Student Showcase. The National theme for BHM is the Crisis in Black Education. and you are invited to express your interpretation or response through song, poetry, or spoken word; present a personal story or recount the history of a role model or icon; create a work of visual art; or propose to do something utterly unique and inspired!

This is a STUDENT showcase, so the program will be developed by the proposals we receive! The Presentation Space is a SMALL, elevated platform, so presenter mobility will be limited (dancing, acrobatics, etc. will not be accepted).

If your proposal is accepted, you will perform as part of the program AND you will be eligible for some incredible prizes! Prize-winners will be determined by the votes of program attendees and a winner will be selected for each category:

     Relevance to National Theme
     Performance Aesthetic
     Professionalism
     Creativity
     Support of Neumann values (RISES)

Please fill out the form below to help us gauge interest and format the program; the event is only two hours long, so please limit any performance times to between 5 and 10 minutes.  Accepted proposals will contain relevant content, fit established format guidelines, and be in congruence with university values. Deadline for proposals is January 30. All Primary Contact Persons will  be notified regarding program details by February 3.
