Leading Outside the Archives Panel: Question Submission form
Panelists for the upcoming session, Leading Outside the Archives, are soliciting questions in advance of their presentation on Thursday May 16th at the 2019 Northwest Archivists Annual Meeting in Bozeman, MT! The session will examine the experiences of mid-career archivists who recently moved into administrator roles outside archives as part of their career trajectories. Moderator, Crystal Rodgers, will pare down submissions into categories and compile a short list of questions that will guide a facilitated discussion during the session. Submission form closes Monday May 13th.

This session will examine the experiences of archivists who have moved into administrator roles outside archives as part of their career trajectories. Areas for discussion include applying archives-related skills and values to positions outside of our professional genre; gaining skills and experience that support moving outside the field; impostor syndrome and professional identity; deciding whether to move up within an institution or move on; and returning to archives work after stepping away from the profession. Presenters will discuss the positive aspects of being an administrator, including leading organizational change that supports diversity and inclusion efforts. This session includes panel presentations and a facilitated discussion.
