2020-2021 Growing Citizen Leaders Application
Imagine Englewood If Growing Citizen Leaders  (GCL) is a youth empowerment program for teenagers connected to the Greater Englewood Community. Participants engage in collaborative youth-led projects, professional development workshops, and civic engagement training! Your are invited to participate in two available tracks, Teen Mentors and Teen Leaders, which provide education, training and coaching in youth program management and environmental awareness.

The Teen Mentors Track is designed to create our future educators and youth development leaders. Participants provide academic support, enrichment activities, and mentorship to children ages 6 to 12 years old. This is a 10-week program from March 2021 - May 2021 that requires 5 - 10 hours/week.
 
Teen Leaders Track is designed to create our future local, national and global leaders. Participants champion meaningful environmental and social justice projects to address current community issues. In 2021, the Teen Leaders projects will focus on lead poisoning education and prevention in soil (vacant lots and community gardens), water, and homes!
