VANCOUVER OCEAN SPORTS
THE RACE
After a five year hiatus, Vancouver Ocean Sports’ Chasedown Outrigger Canoe Race is back!!! Chasedown 2019 is happening on July 20, 2019 at Vancouver Ocean Sports’ Club located in Vancouver, BC. Chasedown is a two lap outrigger canoe race with a fun twist. Each team will stop at the beach after completing their first lap, but the last team to come in will not stop and immediately start their second lap. The remaining canoes will start their second lap in reverse order and with a staggered start between canoes.

This twist will have teams chasing down each other to the finish line. Teams will need to strategize throughout the race, and best of all, we can look forward to a really tight finish, with all boats dog-fighting to the end! No one will know who the winner is until the lap times are tallied after all the teams have crossed the finish line.

UPDATE July 1, 2019

Schedule conflicts has resulted in low registration numbers for Chasedown 2019. VOS will make all efforts to run an enjoyable race. All race categories will now be placed into a single mass start 2x 7km lap race. VOS greatly appreciates all racers who participate. To show our appreciation, race fees will now be reduced to $180 CAD / Adult crew.

If cancellation becomes inevitable, all registered teams will be contacted 2 weeks before the race and all fees will be refunded.
