This twist will have teams chasing down each other to the finish line. Teams will need to strategize throughout the race, and best of all, we can look forward to a really tight finish, with all boats dog-fighting to the end! No one will know who the winner is until the lap times are tallied after all the teams have crossed the finish line.
UPDATE July 1, 2019
Schedule conflicts has resulted in low registration numbers for Chasedown 2019. VOS will make all efforts to run an enjoyable race. All race categories will now be placed into a single mass start 2x 7km lap race. VOS greatly appreciates all racers who participate. To show our appreciation, race fees will now be reduced to $180 CAD / Adult crew.
If cancellation becomes inevitable, all registered teams will be contacted 2 weeks before the race and all fees will be refunded.
Junior paddler registration fees are being fully sponsored by Paddling for Change*. Junior paddlers do not have to pay a registration fee. If the junior team requires an adult steers person in order to race, the adult steers person's fees will also be waived when steering the junior team. The registration fees for any junior paddler racing on an adult team will also be sponsored by Paddling for Change. A discount of $20/junior paddler will be deducted from the total adult team fee.
