Book your seat on the Oxfordshire UNISON Health transport to the Sept 29 national demonstration to defend the NHS @ the Tory party conference in Manchester

Governent cuts and privatisation is destroying our NHS. Our National Health Service, once the most egalitarian and cost effective health service in the world, is being turned into a cash cow to generate profit for private health companies. As a reult the health of the majority of the population of the UK, including future generations is at grave risk.

Planned cuts of £20 billion pounds and forcing NHS services to compete on an open market is robbing services of essential funds. Previous Private Finance Initiative schemes are siphoning off NHS funds to line the pockets of unscupulous conractors.
Yet the government wants to go further, considering ways of charging for access to GP's and allowing faster access to services for those who can pay, limiting services to thise whi can afford to pay.

On the 65th anniversary of the formation of the NHS urgnt action is needed to stop it being dismantled. When it was created it was the greatest social project to improve the health of the everyone in the UK who could not afford private healthcare. Tens of millions who had no or meagre access to healthcare were able to get fre treatment for the first time. We must allow any government to turn back the clock..

"It will last as long as their are folk left with the faith to fight for it" Aneurin Bevan founder of the NHS on the NHS.
