Description:Thanks to the ECS receiving a large grant from the Specialized Foundation Riding for Focus Grant ECS has received a fleet of new bikes and helmets available for student use: Club participants will use the provided bikes. Students may bring their own helmets or use the ones provided.Positive Spin Bike Club adopts Bike PGH's youth cycling curriculum Positive Spin to encourage safe riding, civic engagement, and healthy lifestyle. Week 1 will be a review of Road Rules, Safety Signals, and Bike Etiquette. Week 2-6 will be group rides! Expect to ride to parks, on nearby trails, and through the neighborhood. All skill-levels welcome.*Note: Due to the 6th Grade Biking Exploratory during the 18-19 School Year (which all 6th graders will complete) this club is open only to 7th and 8th graders in the Fall. Club will open to 6th graders in the Spring once they have completed the exploratory.
Cost: $0 *Due to the aforementioned Specialized Foundation Grant as well as receiving local grants from Action for Healthy Kids and Let's Move Pittsburgh, all costs of this program have been grant funded and thus Bike Club will be free to our students during the Fall of 2018.
