Feet! Questions to help with forthcoming Cooperative Press books...plus a contest!

PLEASE NOTE: WE NEED RESPONSES FROM PEOPLE WITH ALL DIFFERENT FOOT SIZES, NOT JUST SIZE 8 -- when you read below, the 8s are the only ones we'd like PHOTOS of, but as for the rest of it, ANY SIZE IS WELCOME -- thanks!

Hello & thank you in advance for your help with this book! Cooperative Press is working on a sock knitting book that will address some long-standing problems with sock fit and much more. Getting your measurements will help us make the how-to material in the book even more useful.

If you are a US size 8, (Euro size 38-39, UK size 6), you can REALLY help us by providing photos of your feet for possible publication. Ok, yes, this sounds a little weird, but bear with us for a moment. You know the statistic that says most women are wearing the wrong bra size? We're addressing THAT, but in an even more specific way, and it has to do with foot shapes and other factors.

If you choose to do photos, here's what we need from you. Standing upright on a white piece of paper or cardboard in clear, bright light (outside light is ideal), ask your helper to take photos of:

(1) your left foot from directly above (emphasis on toe area) then

(2) your left foot from the (outer) side, then

(3) your left foot from behind (emphasis on heel shape and area).

Please name your photos toe-yourlastname.tiff, side-yourlastname.tiff and behind-yourlastname.tiff and save photos as high resolution TIFF files. (If your camera does high resolution JPGs, that's fine, too...just send us the highest resolution files you can). We've asked for a link where we can grab the files from you below; we recommend a private photo set on Flickr, so please prepare your photos before filling out the rest of the form.

All photo-submitters will be eligible to win sock patterns + new OPI nail polish for their pedicures + other prizes TBD by Cooperative Press. Thanks again for your help!
