IWCS Support Employee of the Year Nomination Form

Isle of Wight County Schools (IWCS) is proud to introduce the Support Employee of the Year program, recognizing the invaluable contributions of the staff members who help create a thriving learning environment for our students. From office staff and food service workers, to bus drivers, instructional aides, and many others, these individuals make a lasting impact on our students and community. This program honors those who demonstrate excellence in their roles, exemplify commitment to IWCS’s mission, and contribute to the success of more than 5,000 students. Nominate a deserving support staff employee today! Just complete the brief nomination form below. Eligibility

Candidates are contracted, hourly (non-exempt/classified) employees with Isle of Wight County Schools.

Positions eligible for this award include:

  1. IAs--including behavior, Registered behavior technicians (RBT), library assistant, In School Suspension (ISS), virtual classroom

  2. Administrative Associates 

  3. Bookkeepers

  4. Bus Drivers

  5. Mechanics & Courier

  6. Clinic assistants/Nurse assistant

  7. Technicians--Technology, Special Education, Finance, Human Resources, Medicaid, Instruction

  8. Physical Therapy (PT)/Occupational Therapy (OT) assistants

  9. Food service workers (school based)

  10. School Security Officers (SSOs) 

  11. Other hourly/non-exempt, contracted support employees

Criteria

Candidates will be evaluated on how well they meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrates exceptional skill and dedication to the job. 

  • Takes initiative to go beyond the basic job duties. 

  • Demonstrates an attitude and manner that has a positive effect on others, including students and coworkers.

  • Enhances the image of classified school employees in the community and schools. 

  • Exhibit exemplary attendance. 

  • Must be at least in their 2nd year of employment with IWCS (Child Nutrition employees are eligible through this process) and an employee in good standing.
