Global Kids Energy Policy Institute Application (Houston)
Global Kids is pleased to announce the 2019 U.S. in the World Energy Policy Institute scheduled for June 24 -28, 2019,
from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. This free weeklong institute will be held at the Gregory School in downtown Houston. High school students (9th, 10th and 11th graders) of diverse backgrounds will explore energy policy and human rights issues, and enhance their leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills through interactive workshops, field trips, college visits, and dialogue with guest speakers. Students who are selected to participate receive up to a $10 daily transportation
stipend, breakfast and lunch, and a stipend of $100 upon completing the institute.

Program Information and Eligibility:
● Applicants should currently be high school students in 9th, 10th or 11th grade.
● A student who accepts an invitation to attend the U.S. in the World Energy Policy Institute must commit to attending the full week June 24, 2019 – June 28, 2019.
● Students will receive up to $10 daily transportation stipend, breakfast, lunch and a stipend of $100 for their participation in the program if program is completed.
● Participants from schools and communities with limited resources are encouraged to apply.
● Selection will be based on leadership potential, motivation and initiative, and commitment to examining energy policies and related critical world issues.
● Applications that are late, incomplete or false, or that contain plagiarized information will be disqualified.

Applicants will be notified of their status on a rolling basis, so please submit as soon as possible as space is limited. However, the final deadline to receive applications, including all attachments, report card, and letter of recommendations, is May 10, 2019. Final acceptance notifications will be sent out by May 17, 2019.
