The Path Less Taken Winter Registration (2023-24)
Thank you for checking out the Path Less Taken programming!  To register for a program, please fill in the relevant sections below.  

Payment Information
A welcome informational email and invoice will be issued upon registration.  Payments can be made through email transfer to pathlesstakeneducation@gmail.com.  Please contact for group rates.  

Cancellation Policy:
  • Cancellation by the Path Less Taken due to situations beyond control (park closures, highway closures, natural disasters, illness of the guide, heavy smoke) - participants can choose to transfer full payment to another PLT trip or be refunded their money in full.
  • Cancellations made by the participant with +4 days notice before the trip date will receive a full refund or credit towards another trip minus a $10 administration fee
  • Cancellations made by the participant within 3 days of the trip start day will receive a 50% refund or transfer full payment to another PLT trip

Conservation Caper: Test your animal tracking abilities and investigative skills during this interactive “Whodunit” experience. As you learn about the observation of animal tracks, you will apply this knowledge to solve a “Conservation Caper”. This is a fun day of learning while snowshoeing surrounded by the scenic splendour of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park.  This program is offered at Black Prince or Sawmills.

Microbes in the Mountains: When we think of the living things we share our mountains with we often picture charismatic creatures like the Grizzly or Bighorn Sheep. Typically, not much thought is given to the microscopic microbes of an ecosystem: the worms, germs, bacteria and viruses that we share the landscape with. As we have seen, these tiny microbes have the power to shift and change our natural and human-made world. Learn more about “Microbes in the Mountains” on this winter walk-and-talk.

Custom Snowshoe Trips: Custom designed trips are privately booked for individuals or groups such as families, friends, or colleagues.  PLT will be happy to find a trail for you that fits your timeframe, fitness and goals for the day, whether it is a hike or snowshoe experience.  You will also get to choose the type of interpretive information presented based on your interests.  Custom Designed Trips are available weekends and holidays.  Includes: Guide, Interpretive Material, Hiking Poles, Cleats or Snowshoes

1-2 People $280 + GST

Each additional Adult $55, Children (Ages 10 – 15) $45
