Volunteering with Slow Food NYC
The best way to get started with Slow Food NYC is to first come to one of our upcoming events, or a "Slur." Slurs are occasional happy hours that are free and open to the public, and they offer a way to connect informally with members of Slow Food NYC's leadership and learn about specific projects that could use your skills.

Please visit http://slowfoodnyc.org/events to find out when the next event or Slur is happening. Also, sign up for the newsletter: https://www.facebook.com/SlowFoodNYC/?sk=app_100265896690345 (and don't forget to Like our Page!) Finally, please supply your contact information below and we will be in touch when an opportunity for volunteers arises. Please note that we are all volunteers ourselves, so we can be somewhat slow to respond!

Slow Food NYC Committees
Note that volunteers are also welcome to join one or more of our five board committees — Slow U (monthly event planning, e.g. Slurs, tastings, book/film), Snail of Approval (vetting nominated food establishments for the "Snail" designation), Development (fundraising, including the annual "(Slow)Down" party), Urban Harvest (e.g. composting, nutrition education, grant-writing) and Communications (e.g. writing event summaries, graphic design skills).

Many of our current board members began their involvement with Slow Food NYC as active participants on committees.

Which committees are you interested in joining? (You may check all that apply; note that the time commitment can be several hours per month per committee)

Slow U - Educational Events
Snail of Approval - Slow-Minded Establishments
Development - Fundraising
Urban Harvest - Good Food Education for NYC Kids
Communications - PR & Social Media
