As a volunteer working in Montgomery County Public Schools I agree to:

1. Sign in and out of the building using the Visitor Management System (VMS), or as otherwise directed, at the beginning and end of each volunteer activity and wear a volunteer identification name tag at all times.

2. Participate in volunteer orientation or training sessions that may be necessary to help me in my volunteering experience.

3. Comply with all school rules and MCPS Board of Education policies and regulations (Volunteer Services - IRB -RA).

4. Carry out only those duties/tasks assigned by the school staff.

5. Refrain from accessing confidential student or personnel records, and will respect the confidentiality of students and all school matters.

6. Notify the teacher or designated staff member in advance if I am unable to participate in a scheduled volunteer event.

7. Work with students within view of school staff (through a window, door left open, or public space).

8. Not discipline students, but maintain proper behavior of students and report behavior problems to the teacher or assigned staff member.

9. MCPS employees, contractors, or volunteers must report any suspicion of child abuse/neglect. MCPS employees, contractors, or volunteers may not interrogate or collect written statements from any alleged victim, witness, or offender. If there is doubt about whether to report abuse or neglect, always err in favor of making the report. Report of Suspected Abuse or Neglect: MCPS Form 335-44 can be accessed at the link below.
