At Cascades, our aim is to provide an opportunity for our staff to serve Christ and be a part of a deep faith community during the summer. We understand that financial circumstances can sometimes pose a barrier to employment in ministry or non-profit settings. In response, we have established a grant program designed to assist individuals who wish to contribute to the mission of Cascades, but face financial hardship. This supplementary grant serves as a one-time payment, intended to complement the recipient's salary, and is provided in addition to room, board, and other incentives. To ensure fair distribution, our hiring team will review each application on an as-needed basis. Grant amounts typically range from $250 to $500.
Applicants most likely to get approved for this need-based grant:
• Face the inability to work at Cascades without this financial assistance.
• Require significant travel expenses to work at Cascades.
• Encounter substantial bills or financial obligations (e.g., independent bill payments, providing financial support for family members, etc.).
• Have explored additional grant resources provided through educational institutions, local churches, etc.
Applicants who may not qualify for this grant:
• Receive financial support from parents, guardians, or other sources that enable the applicant to work for standard wages at Cascades.
• Are seeking to earn as much on summer staff as in other employment opportunities.
• Seek supplemental income for non-essential purchases.
Grant awarding process:
Individuals must first apply for a summer staff position and be hired before being considered for this grant. Upon receiving an offer for a summer staff position, applicants can apply for the supplemental grant, which will be reviewed by the hiring team, and a decision will be made within 1 month. Grants will be considered and awarded based on necessity, order of applications, the intended length of employment, and until grant funds are fully distributed. Grants awarded will be received in the final summer paycheck. We will consider distributing funds earlier based on recipient circumstances.
