5th Grade Coding Club Sign Up
Who will lead the club?
Kristin Cash, District 28’s Instructional Technology Coach, and Jess Sliepka, a Greenbriar 5th grade teacher and Teacher Technology Leader.

What will students do in Coding Club?
In Coding Club, students will have the opportunity to learn about fundamental coding concepts that apply to most coding languages and apply these concepts to projects that utilize block coding in the program Scratch.

When will Coding Club meet?
Weekly from 2/1-3/8 for 5 weeks (1 week skipped on 2/15)
During Lunch & Recess from 11:45-12:35 Students will eat in the classroom while they listen to the coding lesson, and then begin their practice once they’ve finished eating. Students will need to bring a peanut and tree nut free lunch.

How many students can join coding club?
We can accept a maximum of 20 students.  
If more than 20 students sign up, we will accept the first 20 responses.

What can I expect from the sign-up process?
Sign-ups will close at the end of the school day on 1/27. 
Students will be notified of their participation in the club on Monday, 1/30.
