What to expect at the workshop:
The perinatal period is a time of immense physical and emotional change. The dynamic of your family is about to shift and everyday roles and routines as well as your sense of identity will be changing as well as your family grows. The goal of this workshop is to help prepare mothers for this change, increase resiliency, and provide strategies to cope as well as supports to advocate for your physical and mental health during this time.

Whether attending an in person or virtual workshop you will be provided wellness information about the perinatal period to help provide more inclusive access to valued health services. This workshop will go through mindfulness practice to help build positive coping skills for this transitional time and well as building resiliency for late pregnancy and into parenting. These mindfulness skills will be facilitated by Mount Mary University's occupational therapy doctoral candidate Ashley Olson, OTD/S. There will also be a Q&A portion related to physical wellness with Dr Amy Elliott, DC of Foundation Chiropractic to help ensure comfort and access to care during this time.

A free wellness guide will be provided with physical and mental wellness information, information for partners and support system to be able to identify red flags, as well as mindfulness practices that can be incorporated into everyday life. This will be delivered via PDF or printed copy depending on your virtual or in person attendance.

The duration of this workshop is approximately 1hr, snacks will be provided at in person session!
