Classes are held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. You must attend all four days to receive your certificate of completion.

If you attend another campus, you must make arrangements with your assistant principal to leave early for each class date and sign out with the attendance office when you leave campus. If you arrive before school has let out, please wait in the main reception area until the bell rings, and then go to class. If you are an out of district student or do not attend the campus at which the class is offered, ask the receptionist for directions to the room.

This is a state-mandated course and in order to meet court and school requirements, a student must attend all four classes in order. Absences and tardies are not permitted. If a student misses a class, s/he must retake the entire series of classes and pay the fee again. Students must participate in class activities to receive their certificate of completion.

The fee for the class is $75. Payment is requested at the first class by check or money order, payable to Leander ISD, and must include both a driver’s license and phone number. Cash is not accepted.

Texas A&M University uses the participants’ workbooks for research purposes and if you are agreeable to being involved in their study, please print and sign the consent and assent forms on the registration web page. If you are not agreeable, still print them and write the student name on the top of the page and write decline. Bring the forms to the first session. No information is shared with outside sources and once the selected workbooks are sent to Texas A&M University School of Rural Public Health, all identifying information is deleted.

Complete the following form to register for the class. All fields are mandatory before submitting form. For the first class, please bring payment and signed consent/assent forms at http://www.leanderisd.org/users/0001/docs/URchoice/TobaccoConsent.pdf.

If you need further information, please contact Mary Ann Kluga at maryann.kluga@leanderisd.org or 512.570.0315.
